Our History
President Robert Tippin founded Five-Star AudioVisual in 1995 with enthusiasm, extensive industry expertise, and a single hotel account. Over the past decade they have guided the company’s growth under the objective of providing personalized, focused, responsive audiovisual services to top hotels, resorts and conference centers. The company has enjoyed more than 1600% revenue growth and now directs operations across the United States and Canada.
Prior to launching Five-Star AudioVisual, the founders worked their way up from entry-level audiovisual service technicians to top executives with a large national audiovisual firm. This experience allowed them to start a hospitality audiovisual company from scratch with the type of service-oriented team members, equipment, and systems that represent the best the industry has to offer.
Our Leaders
Robert Tippin, (President & Co-Founder)
- 22 years hospitality audiovisual experience
- Helped manage the growth and operations of a previous audiovisual company from 3 to over 50 audiovisual offices; specialization in major national audiovisual show management
- Served as President of Five-Star AudioVisual since its inception
Steven Janicek, (Vice President, Sales & Business Development)
- 20+ years hotel sales and marketing experience
- Leads all sales training programs within Five-Star AudioVisual
- Experienced in revenue management and revenue development programs
- Solid understanding of group market and client expectations
Tim Tata, (Chief Operating Officer)
- A 30 year veteran of the hotel and hospitality business working with Hilton Hotels Corporation, Stouffer Hotels and Resorts, Renaissance Hotels and Resorts, and most recently Swank Audio Visuals
- Experience in the roles of National Director of Strategic Accounts, National Sales Director, Sales and Marketing Director, and has been a Hotel General Manager for over 15 years
- As Chief Operating Officer; Tim will be responsible for strategically positioning and directing Five-Star Audio Visuals operating philosophy and growth
