Robert Tippin, President and Founder
With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality audiovisual industry, Robert helped manage the growth and operations of a previous audiovisual company during their expansion from three to over 50 audiovisual offices. Robert’s specialization is in major national audiovisual show management. He has served as President of Five-Star AudioVisual since its inception.
Daniel Kantor, Vice President - Sales & Marketing
As Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Five-Star AudioVisual, Dan has over fifteen years of industry experience and previously held the position of VP of Operations. As a cross functional manager, he understands all aspects of the business and is able to anticipate the needs of our clients and their guest. His responsibilities include not only the sales and marketing strategic planning, but also Five-Star’s advertising, branding, public relations and strategic partnering.
Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial Music from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. He began his career in audio and video production with WAND-ABC Television in Decatur. Dan also spent several years as an audio equipment sales manager for a leading national company before joining the Five-Star AudioVisual team in 2004.
Chelly Dill, Vice President - Business Development
Chelly brings a wealth of experience to the hospitality audiovisual industry due to her extensive background in event management. Having previously held the position as Director of Catering and National Sales Manager for renowned hoteliers such as Starwood Hotels and Resorts and The Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas, Chelly possesses a keen sense of style, design, and culture with an ability to deliver seamless event production, and customized catered experiences. Presiding and managing over 400 events a year, she is a very well respected industry veteran.
Jim Oertli, Vice President - Operations
As Vice President of Operations for Five-Star AudioVisual, Jim Oertli oversees all aspects of operations including the Five-Star Employee Training Program, company-side asset management, Resort openings, and maintaining operational standards of all Resorts, Hotels, and Convention Centers across the United States and Canada. Jim began working with Five-Star in 2005. Before being promoted to his current role, Jim first worked as a service technician, then as Director of AudioVisual. Prior to joining Five-Star, he was Regional Manager for the St. Petersburg Times in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he oversaw outside sales in the EMA (Emerging Market Area) in Hillsborough County
Jim earned his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from St. Petersburg College, while also acquiring Microsoft certifications in software development and hardware configuration. Jim’s background includes extensive experience in the development of programs and processes that develop management, leadership, sales, and customer service.
