Bob Tippin came to us as an outside vendor for a group that was meeting here. I was impressed with Bob, but at the time was satisfied with our vendor. It’s significant that I was only satisfied – we were at zero in that area but not positive. There was no growth. I first considered changing when our vendor fell down on some follow through for a significant event and didn’t offer what I considered to be a timely or appropriate response. Bob had been keeping in touch, but our vendor addressed the problem and I did not change. Then, at our own Christmas party for our McDonald’s division, we had a headliner comedian performing. I asked the vendor for the best available sound quality, given the limitations of the ballroom, etc. I wanted whatever was needed to augment the performer to make sure he was heard clearly in every corner of the room despite what we knew would be a lot of ambient noise. The vendor blew it completely. The first joke the comedian made was to turn to the head table and say, “Hey, I sound like I’m at a McDonald’s drive thru!” I fired our old vendor immediately and called Bob and said, “When can you start?”

Good audiovisual service is huge to us. It makes my job so much easier – I really depend on Five-Star’s great knowledge and their hands-on attitude. Even clients who bring in their own audiovisual equipment get good service from Five-Star.

Their name is very appropriate to their business. Some companies have names like that, but they’re just a gimmick or something clever. Five-Star really lives up to their name.
